Constituents Donate N10m to Back Rep Umar Yusuf Yabo’s 2027 Re-election

Supporters and constituents of the member representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo, have raised N10 million to purchase his nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The fundraising and endorsement event, held in Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, attracted party supporters, political stakeholders, community leaders and residents who gathered to express support for the lawmaker, popularly known as Dan Maje.
Speaking at the event, Umar Bawan Allah, who represented the ADC Sokoto state chairman, described the turnout as a reflection of the confidence the people have in the lawmaker’s leadership and representation.
According to him, the constituents came out in large numbers to appreciate the developmental projects and representation they have continued to enjoy under the lawmaker.He urged the people to remain united and continue supporting the party and its candidate ahead of the next general elections.
Also speaking, governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress, Faruk Malami Yabo, commended the people of the constituency for their loyalty and support, describing Umar Yusuf Yabo as a symbol of continuity and good governance.
He noted that young politicians elected under the party have continued to demonstrate competence and close engagement with youths, women and community groups across the state.
Faruk Malami Yabo also praised former governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, for creating opportunities for younger politicians to emerge and contribute meaningfully to governance.
In his contribution, the chairman of elders forum in Yabo Local Government, Garba Bello Yabo emphasize that ADC has come to stay in Yabo Local Government given the acceptability of the lawmaker in the area. “The mammoth crowd that received the lawmaker was unprecedented in the area”. He also noted that the opposition has no grounds in the constituency.
Lending his voice, house of reps member, representing Gada/Goronyo federal constituency expressed that as a friend of Rep. Yabo who campaign vigorously for his election, will held his head up with pride because his colleague has made him proud given the giant strides recorded within the short span of his representation.
During the presentation of the cheque, a constituent, Mallam Maliki, disclosed that the lawmaker’s performance motivated residents to voluntarily contribute toward the fund.
He explained that while he personally donated N2 million, several others contributed different amounts, ranging from small donations to larger contributions, to ensure the N10 million target was achieved.
Responding, Umar Yusuf Yabo expressed appreciation over the gesture, saying he was overwhelmed by the confidence reposed in him by the people.
He recalled that during the 2023 elections, he promised to serve the constituency diligently and assured supporters that he would continue to justify the trust placed in him.The lawmaker further pledged to continue providing quality representation and serving as a worthy ambassador of the constituency.
Several residents at the event also commended the lawmaker for what they described as effective representation and visible engagement with constituents since his election into the House of Representatives.
