The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Sokoto State has held a low key closing ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members who successfully completed their orientation course in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Sokoto State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Tyoyer Gabriel Ter, congratulated the Corps Members on the successful completion of the orientation programme and wished them a fulfilling and rewarding service year.
Mr. Ter explained that the decision to hold a low key ceremony was to allow the Corps Members to depart the orientation camp early and travel safely to their places of primary assignment.
He added that those approved for relocation would also have sufficient time to begin their journeys without travelling into the night hours.
The State Coordinator urged the Corps Members to uphold the values and discipline instilled in them during the orientation course by serving as worthy ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme and their families through exemplary conduct.
He also encouraged them not to abandon the skills acquired during the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED programme, but to continue with the post camp training at their respective places of primary assignment in order to enhance their self-reliance and future opportunities.
Representing the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General O.O. Nafiu, Mr. Ter formally declared the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course closed in Sokoto State.
