Court Adjourns El-Rufai’s Bail Application to June

A Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to the first week of June 2026.

The ruling was delivered on Tuesday by Justice Darius Khobo during proceedings in Kaduna. El-Rufai is facing multiple charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission over alleged financial crimes and abuse of office.

Following the adjournment, counsel to the former governor criticised the delay, describing it as politically motivated.

El-Rufai was brought to court under tight security, accompanied by officials of the ICPC and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), while supporters gathered outside the court premises. Security personnel restricted movement around the area during the session.

The case is expected to resume in June when the court will hear and determine the bail application.
