Applicants Raise Concerns Over Inaccessibility of Sokoto Scholarship Portal

GaskiyaCast has independently gathered that several applicants seeking to apply for the recently announced fully funded international scholarship programme by the Sokoto State Government have expressed frustration over their inability to access the application portal for over 24 hours.

The affected candidates, who are vying for Bachelor’s BSc and Master’s MSc degree opportunities in accredited institutions across India, Pakistan, and China, say the prolonged downtime is hindering their chances of completing the application process before the deadline.

The Sokoto State Government through the Ministry of Higher Education and the State Scholarship Board had earlier announced the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen the education sector and promote human capital development among indigenes.

According to the official statement the scholarship is open to qualified indigenes of Sokoto State who meet the academic and admission requirements of their chosen institutions and countries of study.

Applicants are required to submit their applications via the official portal:www.sokotostatescholarshipboard.ng with the deadline set for April 30, 2026.

Concerned applicants are now calling on the authorities to urgently address the technical issues affecting the portal to ensure equal opportunity for all eligible candidates.
