Police Announce Shooting Range Exercise in Sokoto
The Sokoto State Police Command has announced plans to conduct a routine shooting range exercise on Saturday, May 10, 2026, at the Kware Shooting Range.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, the exercise will commence from 6:00 a.m. and end at about 4:00 p.m.
The command urged members of the public, particularly residents and commuters within the area, not to panic at the sound of gunshots during the exercise.
It also advised residents to avoid unnecessary movement or trespassing around the designated range area for safety reasons, while parents and guardians were urged to caution their children and wards accordingly.
The police further appealed to the public to cooperate with security personnel that would be deployed around the area and comply with all instructions throughout the exercise.
The command noted that the exercise forms part of efforts aimed at strengthening operational readiness and ensuring public safety across the state.
