First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Donates N100m Grant to 2,000 Women Petty Traders in Jigawa

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to empowering small and medium-scale businesses by donating N100 million in business recapitalisation grants to 2,000 women petty traders in Jigawa State.

Speaking during a visit to the palace of the Emir of Hadejia, His Royal Highness Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, the First Lady said small businesses remain the backbone of sustainable economic growth and pledged continued support for women entrepreneurs across the country.

Under the initiative, each beneficiary will receive a grant of N50,000 to strengthen and expand their businesses.

As part of her one-day official visit to the state, Senator Oluremi Tinubu is also expected to launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North-West zone. She will further inaugurate key state government projects, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to promote economic empowerment, improve food security, and enhance access to education and healthcare in the region.
