El-Rufai’s Son, Two Other Reps Dump APC for ADC, Seeks Re-Election
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, Member representing Kaduna North of Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
His resignation letter was announced on the floor of the House on Thursday by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Bello El-Rufai confirmed that he would seek re-election under the ADC platform, describing the move as the beginning of “a new chapter” focused on progressive and people-oriented leadership.
The lawmaker said he was joined in the defection by Hon. Engr. Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba Federal Constituency, and Hon. Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency.
“As a proud son of Nasir El-Rufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best,” he stated.
Bello El-Rufai assured the constituents of Kaduna North that his commitment to quality representation would remain unwavering despite the political realignment.
The lawmaker also announced plans to inaugurate an ad-hoc committee for a Primary Health Care initiative unveiled last week.
According to him, the programme will provide medical supplies to PHCs across the constituency, beginning with 1,000 syringes and other essential items for selected centres.
He disclosed that the first phase of the intervention would commence at Primary Health Care Centres located in Unguwar Sarki Ward and Badarawa/Malali Ward.
Bello El-Rufai prayed for divine guidance and called for continued prayers for Nigeria and its leaders.
