APC Schedules Presidential Primary for May 15, Sets Form Price at ₦100 Million

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced May 15 and 16, 2026, as the dates for its presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The timetable, released in a statement by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, outlines activities including the sale of forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and primaries for all elective positions.

According to the schedule, the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms will begin on April 25 and end on May 2, while completed forms must be submitted on or before May 4.

Screening of aspirants is expected to hold from May 6 to May 8, with results to be published on May 11. Appeals arising from the screening process will be heard between May 12 and 13.

The party fixed the presidential nomination forms at a total cost of ₦100 million, made up of ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination.

Governorship aspirants are expected to pay ₦50 million, while fees for Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly positions vary.

The APC also announced that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will only pay for the expression of interest form and 50 percent of the nomination fee for each office.

Other primary election dates released by the party include May 18 for House of Representatives, May 20 for Senate, May 21 for State Houses of Assembly, and May 23 for governorship elections.

The ruling party said the timetable complies with the Nigerian Constitution, the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), adding that it remains committed to transparent and credible primaries.
