Ex Gov. Ahmad Aliyu’s Aide Defects to ADC

The embattled former Special Adviser to Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, Hon. Buhari Bello Sahabi, popularly known as Namalam, has defected to the African Democratic Congress ADC.

Sahabi’s defection comes amid a prolonged rift with key figures in the All Progressives CongressAPC in the state. He had earlier resigned from his position as Special Adviser in protest, following what sources describe as serious disagreements with the APC leadership.

The dispute reportedly involved tensions between Sahabi and the party’s state leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, as well as Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

His move to the ADC is seen as another significant shift in Sokoto’s evolving political landscape ahead of future electoral contests.
