Ex Deputy Speaker Emerges ADC Chairman in Sokoto

A frontline politician in Sokoto State, Hon. Abdullahi Maigwandu, has emerged as the new State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Maigwandu emerged during the party’s state congress held on Saturday, where he and other executive members were affirmed unopposed.

Other executive members elected were ; Bello Keegan as Deputy Chairman, Kabiru S. Fulani as Secretary, Umar Bawan Allah as Organising Secretary, Yakubu Abubakar as Youth Leader, Aminu Dan’iya as Treasurer, Kulu Nuhu; Women Leader, Hannatu Abdullahi; Welfare/Social Secretary, Shafiu Umar Tureta; Deputy Organising Secretary, Abdulhakim Kabir; Deputy Legal Advisor among others.

The newly elected chairman is a former Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly and has held several key positions in the state, including Commissioner for Rural Development, Commissioner for Religious Affairs, and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Widely regarded as a respected party elder and grassroots mobilizer, Maigwandu’s emergence is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the ADC’s structure and influence in Sokoto State.
