Sultan Pays Tribute to Former Communications Minister, Gen. Olanrewaju at 80

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated former Minister of Communications and retired military officer, Tajudeen Adeniyi Olanrewaju, on the occasion of his 80th birthday anniversary.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Media Team of the Sultan of Sokoto, the monarch described General Olanrewaju as a distinguished soldier, statesman, and patriot whose life has been defined by courage, discipline, and selfless service to Nigeria.

The Sultan praised the retired Army General for his contributions to national unity, stability, and development through several military assignments both within and outside the country.

According to the statement, General Olanrewaju has remained “a pillar of strength in times of trial and a guiding light in times of progress,” noting that his legacy of honour, sacrifice, and dedication to national service continues to inspire younger generations.

The Sultan further stated that attaining the age of 80 represents not only longevity but also recognition of a lifetime devoted to the service of humanity and the nation.

He prayed for continued good health, peace, and fulfillment for the elder statesman, while expressing hope that the years ahead would bring him joy and satisfaction from the enduring impact of his service.

General Olanrewaju is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s notable public servants, with decades of contributions to governance and national development.
