Tambuwal to Judiciary: “Do Not Let Yourselves Be Used to Destroy Nigeria”
Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged members of the judiciary to uphold justice and resist external pressures that could undermine Nigeria’s democracy.
Speaking at the National Convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held at the Rainbow Event Centre, Tambuwal delivered a strong message to judges and justices across the country.
“To all the Judges and Justices, do not let yourselves be used to destroy Nigeria,” he said.
He warned that accountability extends beyond the present, stressing that “history is taking notes of our roles as individuals and our children and grandchildren are looking up to us to serve this country.”
The former Sokoto State Governor also reminded judicial officers of divine judgment, stating, “God Almighty will be the ultimate judge on the day of judgement.”
Tambuwal cautioned against undue influence, urging the judiciary to remain vigilant. “So be wary of those individuals or people that are talking to you to influence you to undermine our country and undermine our democracy,” he said.
Highlighting the need for the opposition to have a collective action, he noted that “it is about unity of purpose and vision for this country. It’s about our vision and collective desire to rescue Nigeria.”
He further emphasized ADC’s sacrifice and collaboration, declaring, “No sacrifice will be too small when that time comes,” and adding that, “we must all work together towards a common mission of rescuing this country, and ADC is that platform.”
Tambuwal concluded by calling on Nigerians to unite and support ADC under a shared vision to rebuild and strengthen the nation’s democratic institutions.
