Fire Razes Residences of Police Personnel in Sokoto, AIG Sympathises
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 10,Mr. Gyogo Augustine Grimah, has expressed sympathy with police personnel affected by a recent fire outbreak at the PMF 7 Squadron Barracks in Sokoto.
The fire incident, which occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2026, destroyed parts of the residential quarters of officers, leaving several families counting their losses.
During a visit to the scene on Monday, AIG Grimah commiserated with the affected personnel and their families, describing the incident as unfortunate and assuring them of support.
“We share in your pain over the losses recorded. We pray for strength and quick recovery as you rebuild” he said.
In his remarks, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Faruk Abdullahi Ambursa, called for increased safety consciousness and preventive measures to avert future occurrences.
The police leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting affected officers while urging adherence to safety guidelines within barracks communities.
