Sokoto Deputy Governor Pays Tribute to Three Soldiers Killed in Isa IED Explosion

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, on Tuesday led government officials in paying tribute to three Nigerian soldiers who died in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion while on a security mission in Isa Local Government Area.

Gobir attended the funeral prayers held at Giginya Barracks on behalf of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, where he conveyed the state government’s condolences to the Nigerian Army and the families of the deceased soldiers.

Describing the fallen troops as courageous patriots, the deputy governor said they paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty while working to protect communities from bandit attacks and other criminal activities.

He offered prayers for the departed soldiers and urged their families to remain steadfast, praying that Allah grants them comfort and strength during the difficult period.

After the funeral rites, Gobir visited soldiers injured in the same operation at the Giginya Barracks Clinic. He commended their bravery and assured them of the government’s support as they recover from their injuries.

The deputy governor reaffirmed the commitment of the Sokoto State Government to strengthening collaboration with security agencies, stressing that efforts to defeat banditry and restore lasting peace across the state would continue unabated.
