Kebbi NUJ Felicitates Emir of Gwandu at 85

The Nigeria Union of Journalists Kebbi State Chapter, has congratulated the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, on the occasion of his 85th birthday anniversary.

In a joint statement issued by the chairman of the union in the state, Comrade Abubakar Bello Sarki, and the Secretary, Comrade Ismail Adebayo, the council described the revered monarch as a distinguished leader who devoted a greater part of his life to the service of Nigeria in different capacities during his military career before ascending the throne of the Gwandu Emirate.

The union noted that through his wisdom, leadership qualities, and commitment to peace, Kebbi State has witnessed remarkable progress and development, while his reign has continued to foster harmony among the various ethnic and religious groups within his domain.

According to the council, the Emir’s exemplary leadership, fatherly guidance, and dedication to humanity remain worthy of emulation.

The NUJ joined the people of Gwandu Emirate and Kebbi State in celebrating the royal father and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him more wisdom, strength, and good health to continue steering the affairs of the emirate.
