The Zamfara State Government has announced plans to begin commercial flight operations from Gusau International Airport, in a move aimed at improving connectivity and boosting economic activities in the state.

According to information released by officials, two airlines have been identified to operate scheduled flights from the airport. The proposed routes will connect Gusau to Abuja via Sokoto and Kano.

Each airline is expected to run at least two flights weekly, a development expected to ease travel for residents, enhance business opportunities, and strengthen regional integration.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the state government to improve infrastructure and attract investment, positioning Zamfara as a more accessible hub in northern Nigeria.

Authorities say further details, including the identities of the airlines and official take-off dates, will be communicated in due course.
