Tinubu Administration Delivering Landmark Projects in Kano, Says Presidential Aide During Inspection Tour
By Nafiu Muhammad Lema
The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdul’aziz Abdul’aziz, has said the Federal Government is making significant progress on key infrastructure projects in Kano State, particularly the Kano-Maradi rail line, which he described as a transformative investment for northern Nigeria.
Speaking during an inspection tour of major federal projects in Kano, part of the events preceding Arewa Media Summit convened by his office, Abdul’aziz said the Kano interchange station on the Kano-Maradi rail project has reached over 80 percent completion, noting that it will serve as a major transportation hub linking Kano with Katsina, Jigawa and the Niger Republic.

According to him, the project was only about 10 to 15 percent complete when the Tinubu administration assumed office, but has since recorded remarkable progress due to sustained government funding and commitment.
“The Kano station is a mega station because it is an interchange station connecting rail services from Katsina, Jigawa and even the Niger Republic to other parts of Nigeria. The project is now over 80 percent complete.”
He said the rail project would boost regional trade, improve the movement of people and goods, and serve generations to come.

“This is a futuristic project that will not only benefit people today but will outlive us and even the next generation.”
Abdul’aziz also dismissed claims that the current administration is not delivering on its promises, saying the projects inspected provide clear evidence of progress under President Bola Tinubu.
“The projects we have inspected today demonstrate in a very clear way that this government, contrary to whatever critics may say, is delivering on very significant projects in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.”
He noted that the inspection covered investments across critical sectors, including healthcare, energy, road and rail infrastructure, describing them as long-term investments with far-reaching economic and social benefits.
Explaining the purpose of the inspection exercise, he said the tour was organised to allow Nigerians to witness ongoing projects firsthand.
“That is why we call this project ‘seeing is believing.’ We want Nigerians to see what this administration is doing across the nooks and crannies of the country, with particular emphasis on northern Nigeria.”
The inspection team visited the Kano Northern Bypass, the new Accident and Emergency Complex and Renewed Hope Agenda Solarisation Project at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), the Kano Station of the Kano-Maradi Rail Line, and the Agricultural Incubation Centre of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) at the old site of Bayero University, Kano.
The tour formed part of efforts to showcase ongoing federal projects under the Tinubu administration across the North.
