Tambuwal Hails Atiku’s ADC Victory, Calls for Unity and National Renewal

Former Governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, has congratulated former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Tambuwal, in a statement shared via his official X account on Thursday, described Atiku’s victory at the party’s presidential primary election as a clear reflection of Nigerians’ growing desire for experienced, courageous, and people-oriented leadership capable of addressing the nation’s current challenges.

According to the former Sokoto State governor, Nigeria is presently at a critical crossroads, with citizens grappling with economic hardship, insecurity, social division, and uncertainty about the future.

He noted that many Nigerians continue to place their hopes in leaders with proven democratic credentials, national outlook, and the ability to unite people across regional and political lines.

Tambuwal further stated that Atiku’s emergence through what he described as a transparent democratic process underscores the importance of internal democracy and active political participation in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic culture.

He urged political actors across the country to place national interest above personal ambitions as preparations gradually begin for another electoral cycle.

The former governor also called on Nigerians to remain peaceful and committed to the unity, stability, and progress of the country.

Tambuwal prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the ADC presidential candidate wisdom, strength, and good health as he continues in service to the nation.

GaskiyaCast reports that Atiku Abubakar emerged victorious at the ADC presidential primary held earlier this week, defeating other aspirants to secure the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.
