South West Fulani Chiefs Commend Tinubu, Makinde, Security Agencies Over Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers

The Council of Fulani Chiefs in South West Nigeria has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and the nation’s security agencies following the successful rescue of the school children and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued by its Media Office, the Council, led by the Chairman and Sarki Fulani of Lagos, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, described the rescue operation as a major success, commending the professionalism, resilience, and coordinated efforts of the security agencies that ensured the victims regained their freedom without any loss of life.

The Council said the operation demonstrates the commitment of both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government to protecting lives and maintaining public safety, while also highlighting the effectiveness of collaboration among the country’s security institutions.

It urged Nigerians, particularly residents of the South West, to reject ethnic profiling, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality capable of threatening peace and national unity.

The Fulani traditional leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting government and security agencies through community-based peace-building initiatives and cooperation aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the region.

While appreciating President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, the Service Chiefs, and heads of security and intelligence agencies for responding to calls for the victims’ rescue, the Council expressed hope that sustained efforts would bring an end to insecurity and pave the way for lasting peace and development across Nigeria.
