Sokoto Govt Hands Over Patrol Vehicles to Strengthen Fight Against Banditry

Sokoto State Government has presented operational patrol vehicles to security agencies as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance the fight against banditry across the state.
The vehicles, procured by the administration of Governor Ahmad Aliyu, are expected to improve the mobility and operational capacity of security agencies in responding swiftly to security threats and protecting lives and property.
Presenting the vehicles on behalf of the government, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, said the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the logistics required to tackle banditry and other criminal activities effectively.
He said the government remains determined to build a stronger security architecture capable of restoring and sustaining peace in all parts of the state.
Gobir urged the beneficiary agencies to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for operational purposes, emphasizing that discipline, professionalism and proper utilization of government resources are essential to achieving lasting security.
He also appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely information on suspicious persons and activities, noting that effective security requires collaboration between government, security personnel and the public.
The patrol vehicles form part of the Sokoto State Government’s wider security support programme, which includes the provision of logistics, motorcycles, surveillance support and welfare interventions for security personnel operating in frontline communities.
The state government expressed optimism that the additional operational assets would further strengthen ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and improve public safety across Sokoto State.
