PDP to Hold Special Convention to Ratify Jonathan’s Presidential Nomination
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to hold a Special National Convention for the ratification of the nomination of former Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as the party’s sole presidential candidate.
According to an official invitation released by the party, the convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 30th May 2026, at the ‘A’ Class Event Centre, Kassim Ibrahim Way, Wuse 2, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The event is expected to attract party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters from across the country as the PDP formally ratifies Jonathan’s candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The invitation was jointly signed by the party’s National Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, mnipr, and the National Caretaker Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan.
Political observers say the convention marks a significant moment in the PDP’s preparations for the next presidential election, with expectations that the gathering will also serve as a platform for party unity and strategic mobilisation.
