Kebbi Governor Secures APC Second Term Governorship Ticket

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed Governor Nasir Idris as its governorship flagbearer for the 2027 general elections.
The affirmation followed after the Governor emerged as the sole aspirant vying for the party’s governorship ticket in the state.
Governor Nasir Idris was received at the Haliru Abdu Stadium by a mammoth crowd of party supporters who gathered to affirm him for a second term.
Leading the affirmation exercise, the Chairman of the Kebbi State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee from the party’s National Headquarters, Abdulmalik Muhammad, expressed appreciation for the unity exhibited among former governors and other party leaders.
He subsequently conducted the affirmation process and raised the Governor’s hand for the crowd’s endorsement.
“Our assignment here is simple because APC members in Kebbi State have already spoken with one voice,” he said.
He noted that delegates and party officials from all the 225 wards in the state were fully represented at the venue, describing the turnout as a demonstration of unity and confidence in the governor’s leadership.
“Having fulfilled all constitutional and party requirements, I hereby declare Gov. Nasir Idris as the duly elected APC governorship candidate for Kebbi state,” Mahmud announced.
Expressing appreciation over the affirmation, Governor Nasir Idris assured party members that the confidence reposed in him would be rewarded with renewed commitment and greater developmental strides if re-elected.
“I am delighted that our people have collectively expressed confidence in our leadership and asked us to continue serving them.
“This endorsement is a clear indication that the people appreciate what we are doing.
” We will continue to provide purposeful leadership and ensure that development reaches every part of Kebbi State,” he said.
Mr Idris also thanked President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Working Committee and party stakeholders for their support and encouragement.
“I am humbled by this overwhelming endorsement. We will build on the successes already recorded and continue to run an administration that accommodates all segments of society,” the governor added.
The event witnessed the attendance of top APC stakeholders, party faithful, and supporters from across the state, reaffirming the party’s unity and readiness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
