Governor Nasir Idris Deserves Second Term Based on Performance – Aide
By Animasahun Salman
The Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru (Sadaukin Zuru), has said the governor’s achievements across key sectors of the state justify calls for his re-election in 2027.
Speaking in an interview marking Governor Idris’ three years in office, Zuru highlighted major accomplishments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, social welfare and security support.
According to him, the administration has focused on completing abandoned projects, including the revitalisation of the ultra-modern Bola Ahmed Tinubu Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, while also embarking on extensive urban renewal and road construction projects across the state.
He said nearly 50 inter-town roads have been completed or are ongoing, including the reconstruction of the strategic Koko-Zuru Road, which had remained abandoned for about a decade.
On education, Zuru noted that the administration renovated and equipped about 1,000 schools, constructed more than 60 new schools, recruited 2,000 teachers and cleared over ₦6 billion in inherited scholarship liabilities.
In the healthcare sector, he said 24 general hospitals have been rehabilitated, while four major hospitals are being upgraded into referral centres to improve access to quality medical services.
The governor’s aide also cited extensive support for farmers through the provision of free fertilisers, improved seeds, irrigation equipment and financial assistance aimed at boosting food production and rural incomes.
Addressing security challenges, Zuru said the state government has provided over 100 operational vehicles and about 7,000 motorcycles to security agencies, alongside logistical support to enhance operations across affected communities.
He maintained that Governor Idris’ policies and projects have positively impacted residents across the state, adding that the administration’s performance and the unity within the APC place the governor in a strong position ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
“People can see completed projects, improved services and ongoing development initiatives. If performance remains the deciding factor, Governor Nasir Idris stands on a very strong foundation going into the next election cycle,” he said.
