The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya (Walin Sokoto), has felicitated with Muslims in Sokoto State, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Aminu Abdullahi, Dan’iya called on Muslims to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, patience, obedience, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

He said the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir remain important in strengthening unity and promoting national development, especially at a time Nigeria is facing economic hardship and insecurity.

The ADC governorship candidate urged Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that prayers, unity, and responsible leadership are necessary to overcome the country’s present challenges.

Dan’iya also appealed to members of the 2026 Sokoto State Hajj contingent currently in Saudi Arabia to remember Sokoto State and Nigeria in their prayers during the pilgrimage.

According to him, the pilgrims should pray for lasting peace, improved security, economic stability, and national progress.

“We pray Almighty Allah to accept your Hajj and all acts of worship. May your pilgrimage be rewarded with Hajj Mabrur, and may Allah bring you back home safely in good health and peace,” the statement added.

The ADC candidate further encouraged eligible Nigerians, particularly youths and first-time voters, to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration and PVC issuance exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), expected to continue until July 10, 2026.

He emphasized that possessing a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) remains the constitutional means for citizens to participate in the 2027 general elections and shape the future of the country.

Dan’iya warned that Nigerians without PVCs would be unable to exercise their civic rights during the elections.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration while praying for Allah’s mercy, guidance, and protection upon the nation.
