Makinde-Led PDP Faction Unveils Turaki as Caretaker Committee Chairman

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced the constitution of a 13-member caretaker committee to steer the affairs of the party.

The committee, chaired by former Minister Tanimu Turaki, was ratified during the faction’s 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Monday in Abuja.

The resolution followed a motion presented by Edo State PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and seconded by party ex-officio member, Clement Fagboyede.

Other members of the caretaker committee include Taofeek Arapaja, who will serve as National Secretary, alongside Daniel Ambrose, Hamza Abuya, Ihediwa, Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Baru Shaffi, and Okechukwu Obiechina.

The development confirmed earlier reports that the Makinde-led bloc would formally unveil Turaki as chairman of the caretaker committee amid ongoing internal party realignments.

More details are expected to follow.
