Gov. Aliyu Donates SR1,000 Sallah Welfare Package to Sokoto Pilgrims
The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has approved a Sallah welfare package of SR1,000 for each of the 2,410 Sokoto State pilgrims currently performing the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The announcement was made by the Amirul Hajj and Leader of the Sokoto State 2026 Hajj Delegation, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, who also serves as the Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, during the delivery of his Eid-el-Kabir message to pilgrims at the Sokoto pilgrims’ tents in Minna.
According to Dingyadi, the gesture reflects Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, comfort, and well-being of Sokoto pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
He noted that the Governor places high priority on ensuring that pilgrims from the state receive adequate support while fulfilling one of the fundamental pillars of Islam.
The Amirul Hajj called on the pilgrims to reciprocate the Governor’s kindness by offering prayers for sustained peace, unity, stability, and development in Sokoto State and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, disclosed that all 2,410 pilgrims from Sokoto State successfully completed the 2026 Hajj rites without major challenges.
He commended Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for his consistent support to the agency and the pilgrims, describing the administration’s intervention as timely and impactful.
Alhaji Aliyu Musa also praised the Sokoto State Government Hajj Delegation led by Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, alongside members of the board, staff of the agency, and committee officials, for their dedication and sacrifices which contributed immensely to the smooth and successful Hajj operations.
The Sallah welfare package is expected to further boost the morale of the pilgrims as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir in the holy land.
