A governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State and member representing Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bashir Usman Gorau, has officially withdrawn from the 2027 governorship race.

Gorau disclosed this in a video clip, stating that the leader of the party in the state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, appealed to him to suspend his ambition “for the dispensation.”

According to him, he accepted the appeal in the interest of the party and urged all his supporters to respect and embrace whatever decision the ADC takes when its governorship candidate is eventually unveiled.

The lawmaker also called on party faithful to remain united and committed to the success of the ADC in Sokoto State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
