Gov. Ahmed Aliyu to Get N1.4billion Bulletproof Vehicles

The Sokoto State Executive Council has approved contracts valued at over N5 billion for key projects spanning road rehabilitation, renovation of the NYSC orientation camp, procurement of official vehicles and other developmental initiatives across the state.
The approvals were disclosed on Wednesday by the Commissioners for Land and Housing, Youth and Sports, Finance and Transportation, Barrister Nasiru Dantsoho, Engr. Mustapha Mohammed Kofar Marke, Engr. Muhammadu Jabbi Shagari and Hon. Bala Kokani after the Executive Council meeting.
Among the major approvals is the sum of N1.079 billion earmarked for the comprehensive renovation of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC orientation camp in Sokoto State.
The council also approved N1.4 billion for the purchase of vehicles for the Office of the Governor, including three bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles, two Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUVs and a coaster bus.
To strengthen public transportation in the state, the council approved N438 million for the procurement of six buses under the state mass transit scheme.
The commissioners further revealed that N733.2 million was approved for the renovation of the International Conference Centre, while N340.5 million was set aside for the purchase of two payloaders for the Ministry of Environment.
As part of efforts to improve infrastructure, the council approved N2.2 billion for the rehabilitation of 36 roads across the state. An additional N894.6 million was also approved for the ongoing Airport Road project.
In the agricultural sector, the executive council approved N398.6 million for the establishment of a livestock centre aimed at boosting livestock production and supporting related economic activities.
The commissioners said the projects were designed to enhance infrastructure, transportation, environmental management and overall service delivery in Sokoto State.
