ADC Dismisses Rumours, Reaffirms Commitment to 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its readiness to participate in the 2027 general elections, dismissing claims that it may not field candidates as “unfounded” and “mischievous.”

In a press statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said it remains focused on its mission to reposition Nigeria and provide an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC described recent speculations about its non-participation in the 2027 polls as deliberate attempts to mislead the public and create unnecessary confusion. It insisted that there is no legal or constitutional barrier preventing the party from contesting in the elections.

According to the statement, the party is fully compliant with all relevant laws, including the Constitution and the Electoral Act, and is actively strengthening its structures nationwide in preparation for the polls.

The ADC further stated that it would not only field candidates but present credible, competent, and widely acceptable individuals capable of addressing Nigeria’s current challenges.

Reaffirming its position as a leading opposition platform, the party said it is intensifying efforts to mobilise Nigerians who are dissatisfied with insecurity, economic hardship, and limited opportunities.

It urged its members, supporters, and the general public to disregard what it described as baseless assertions, stressing that it remains committed to organising, mobilising, and working towards victory in the 2027 general elections.
