Zamfara ADC governorship candidate pledges to tackle poverty, insecurity

Alhaji Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, the governorship candidate of the The African Democratic Congress, (ADC) in Zamfara has pledged to revive economic opportunities in the state to tackle poverty and insecurity in voted in to power as governor of the state in the 2027 general elections.
Shinkafi stated this while addressing ADC supporters in Gusau on Friday.
Shinkafi, who is the former member, House of Reps Zurmi/Shinkafi federal constituency in Zamfara, inaugurated his governorship campaign in Gusau on Thursday.
Shinkafi also embarked on house to house mobilisation campaigns to religious leaders and major political stakeholders in the state.
“If voted into power, I will create opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths to reduce artificial poverty in the state,” Shinkafi said.
He described the lingering insecurity in the state had exposed people of the state in to the object poverty.
He noted that, “Zamfara state was known as a commercial center for a long period of time, but the security challenges have made it to become history”.
“People of Zamfara needed policies and programmes that will revive economy, peace and stability in the state.
“There is no other time that Zamfara needs urgent intervention to tackle poverty than now.
“Inshallah, if voted in power we are going to initiate programmes for the benefit of the common man, especially tha vulnerable women and unemployed youths, the rural dwellers mostly affected by the insecurity,” he explained.
He noted that poverty and insecurity have disrupted communities, displaced families and kept farmers away from their farms, and this will be a foundation of my administration.
“I will make sure that, our people receive the best treatment they deserve if I happen to be the next governor of the state in 2027,” he added.
Shinkafi said, “I will give priority on poverty alleviation and the fight against insecurity, I am therefore calling on people of Zamfara to vote for all ADC candidates in the 2027 general elections”.
