2027: We’ll Campaign With Our Projects, Aliyu Tells Sokoto Opposition
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will campaign for re-election in the 2027 general elections based on the projects executed by his administration.
Aliyu stated this on Friday at the Government House, Sokoto, shortly after observing the Jumu’at prayer, challenging opposition parties to present their records in office to the electorate instead of engaging in personal attacks.
The governor said his administration had recorded achievements it would showcase during the campaign, adding that the APC was seeking another mandate to sustain and expand its projects across the state.
“We will ensure decorum in our campaign language and refrain from insulting anyone,” Aliyu said.
He explained that his administration would continue to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people and remain responsive to their needs in pursuit of the state’s development.
Aliyu also urged APC supporters to remain law-abiding and conduct their political activities with respect for human dignity and in accordance with the law.
He challenged opposition parties to focus on their records while in power, rather than resorting to what he described as campaigns of calumny.
The governor further cautioned political actors against using freedom of expression as a pretext to violate the fundamental human rights of others during political campaigns.
According to him, his administration remains committed to protecting the rights and dignity of every citizen of Sokoto State.
“We owe it a duty to protect our dear state from anyone who seeks to destroy it,” he added.
Aliyu thanked the people of Sokoto State for their continued support and prayers, urging them to sustain their support for his administration.
