TINUBU TO BANDITS, KIDNAPPERS: SURRENDER NOW OR FACE FULL FORCE OF THE STATE
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a stern warning to bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terrorism, declaring that they must surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian state.
Speaking in his Democracy Day nationwide broadcast on Thursday, the President said the government’s offer of repentance and surrender would not remain open indefinitely, stressing that security agencies have been directed to intensify operations against criminal elements threatening the country’s peace and stability.
“To bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror: Surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian State. These windows of surrender will not remain open forever. No mercy will be shown to those who trade in the blood of Nigerians,” Tinubu stated.
The President, however, cautioned Nigerians against ethnic profiling and attempts to link criminality to any particular ethnic group, insisting that crime has no ethnicity.
“At a time like this, let us not assign blame or point fingers. Crime has no ethnicity,” he said.
Tinubu called on citizens to remain united in confronting insecurity, expressing confidence that terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes would eventually be defeated.
“We must stand united and be assured that the enemies of our nation shall soon be history. We will triumph over terror and continue to build a more prosperous nation,” he added.
The President also described the current period as a defining moment for Nigeria, urging citizens to work together to secure economic prosperity and national development.
He called for unity, hope, and confidence in the country’s future, emphasizing the need to reject division and despair while building a nation where justice, liberty, and opportunities are accessible to all.
