Shettima: Tinubu Reforms Helping Nigerian Fintechs Become Global Brands

Vice President Kashim Shettima has said the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are creating opportunities for indigenous Nigerian companies to expand their operations and become international brands.

Shettima stated this when he received a delegation from Flutterwave, led by its Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Olugbenga Agboola, on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa.

Flutterwave is a Nigerian fintech company that provides payment infrastructure for global merchants and payment service providers.

The Vice President said the Federal Government’s reforms across various sectors were supporting the growth and international expansion of Nigerian-owned businesses.

He noted that companies including Flutterwave, Moniepoint and Andela were leveraging the gains of the administration’s economic reforms to scale their operations and expand their businesses.

“Through reforms instituted across diverse sectors in Nigeria, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is supporting the transformation of indigenous companies into international brands” he affirmed.

Shettima further highlighted the growing role of Nigerian technology and fintech companies in driving economic transformation and strengthening the country’s position in the global digital economy.

“Companies such as Flutterwave, Moniepoint, Andela and others are leveraging the gains of the administration’s economic reforms to scale their operations and expand their businesses” he highlighted.

The Vice President’s meeting with the Flutterwave delegation underscores the Federal Government’s engagement with indigenous businesses and its focus on creating an enabling environment for private-sector growth.
