Dickson Receives Sokoto NDC Leaders, Assures Haido of Campaign Support

The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, has received a delegation of party leaders from Sokoto State led by the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Shamsuddeen Haido.
The delegation, which visited Dickson on Thursday evening, included the party’s National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Mainasara; Sokoto State Chairman; Director-General of the governorship campaign; and one of the party’s House of Representatives candidates.

Dickson said the delegation visited to appreciate his support and encouragement for the party and its activities in Sokoto State.
He reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of leaders through development, guidance and mentorship, stressing that the party seeks leaders capable of promoting national unity, fairness, compassion and sustainable development.
According to him, the party does not discriminate against Nigerians based on their geographical or religious backgrounds, but places emphasis on character, capacity and commitment to improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens.
Dickson described Haido as a medical doctor with professional experience in Nigeria and Europe, who had returned to contribute to healthcare delivery through his involvement in establishing medical facilities.
He expressed pleasure at having Haido as the party’s governorship candidate in Sokoto State, alongside other committed party leaders and candidates contesting for various elective positions.
The former Bayelsa State governor urged NDC members, supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to give the candidates the necessary support and encouragement as they seek to offer the people of Sokoto State an alternative political platform.
He also expressed his readiness to join Haido and other party leaders in Sokoto State for campaign activities soon.
Dickson reiterated that the NDC’s vision was to produce leaders who would unite the country, strengthen democratic institutions and promote Nigeria’s development.
