Labour Party governorship aspirant in Imo State, Hon. Ifeanyi Thaddaus Ezeagu, has congratulated Haj. Bintu Konto on her emergence as the party’s vice presidential candidate, describing her nomination as a deserving recognition of her leadership, dedication and commitment to the party’s ideals.

Ezeagu, in a statement issued on Saturday, said Konto’s emergence would strengthen the Labour Party’s quest to build a just, prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

He expressed confidence in her ability to contribute meaningfully to the party’s campaign ahead of the general elections.

“Her emergence is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership qualities, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Labour Party and the progress of Nigeria,” Ezeagu said.

“I have no doubt that she will make a significant contribution to our collective quest for a just, prosperous, and inclusive nation.”

The Imo governorship aspirant also commended the Labour Party’s national leadership, led by Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, for what he described as its commitment to internal democracy, inclusiveness and gender balance.

According to him, the choice of Konto as the party’s vice presidential candidate reflects the party’s belief in equal opportunities and the critical role of women in national development.

“I commend the national leadership of the Labour Party for its commitment to internal democracy, inclusiveness and the promotion of gender balance in the party’s leadership,” he said.

“This decision reflects the party’s belief in equal opportunity and the invaluable role of women in national development.”

Ezeagu urged party members, supporters and Nigerians to remain united and committed to the principles of justice, equity, accountability and good governance as the party prepares for the elections.

He also prayed for divine guidance, protection and success for the Labour Party’s presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as other candidates contesting on the party’s platform.

“I call on all party members, supporters and Nigerians of goodwill to remain united and committed to the ideals of justice, equity, accountability and good governance,” he said.

“I pray that Almighty God grants our presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as all Labour Party candidates across the federation, wisdom, good health, protection and overwhelming success at the polls. May our great party record victory at all levels and continue to offer Nigerians credible and people-oriented leadership.”

Ezeagu concluded by wishing Konto a successful and impactful campaign, expressing optimism that her candidacy would further strengthen the Labour Party’s electoral prospects.
