Sokoto Police Announce Range Exercise, Urge Residents Not to Panic Over Gunshots
The Sokoto State Police Command has notified members of the public that it will conduct a routine range exercise on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Kware Shooting Range.
According to a public notice issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, the exercise will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The command advised residents, particularly those living around or commuting through the exercise area, not to panic at the sound of gunshots during the exercise, stressing that the activity is a scheduled training routine.
The police also urged the public to avoid unnecessary movement or trespassing around the designated range area for safety reasons. Parents and guardians were advised to caution their children and wards, while commuters and residents were encouraged to comply with instructions from security personnel deployed around the venue.
The command expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation and understanding, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents across Sokoto State.
