‘Seeing Is Believing’: Kaduna Western Bypass Project Surpasses 50% Completion, Set to Ease Traffic Congestion

The ongoing ‘Seeing Is Believing’ (Gani Ya Kori Ji) media tour of major Federal Government projects across Northern Nigeria continued with a visit to the Kaduna Western Bypass Project, where journalists inspected the progress of work and received updates from officials overseeing the construction.

The media delegation, led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, was informed by officials of Sanford Industry Limited, the contractor handling the project, that the road has surpassed 50 percent completion.

According to the officials, construction is progressing simultaneously on different sections of the project, with adequate funding provided by the Federal Government to ensure uninterrupted work.

They explained that the contract was awarded in 2021, while physical construction commenced in 2023. The project involves the construction of a 21.5-kilometre dual carriageway, with a combined pavement length of approximately 43 kilometres. It also includes the construction of eight pedestrian bridges to enhance road safety and protect lives.

The project team further disclosed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reviewed the contract value to reflect prevailing economic realities, a move they said has accelerated the pace of construction. They expressed confidence that the project would be completed within the scheduled timeframe if the current momentum is maintained.

Journalists participating in the ‘Seeing Is Believing’ media tour noted that upon completion, the Kaduna Western Bypass will significantly reduce traffic congestion within Kaduna metropolis, improve the movement of goods and passengers, and stimulate commercial activities and economic growth across Kaduna State and the wider Northern region.

They described the project as another demonstration of President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
