Ganduje Denies Defection Rumours, Says He Remains Committed to APC
By Nafiu Muhammad Lema
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed as false reports claiming he has defected to the New Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the allegations as a politically motivated attempt to mislead the public.
In a statement issued by his Chief of Staff and former Kano State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba, Ganduje reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, insisting he remains committed to the ruling party and its leadership.
Rejecting the viral posters circulating on social media, the former Kano State governor said he is not a politician who changes parties for personal gain, stressing that he remains steadfast in his political convictions.
According to the statement, Ganduje described the posters as false, mischievous and politically motivated, accusing those behind them of attempting to create confusion among APC members and
fuel unnecessary political speculation.
He stressed that he has never considered leaving the APC, noting that it would be illogical for anyone to suggest he had joined another political party after serving as the APC’s National Chairman.
Ganduje maintained that the APC remains Nigeria’s largest and strongest political party and said it continues to grow under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also revealed that those responsible for producing and circulating the alleged fake posters had been identified, warning that legal action would be taken if they failed to withdraw the materials and stop further dissemination.
The former APC chairman urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard the posters, insisting they do not reflect his political position or intentions.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with President Tinubu and the APC leadership to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
