APC Northwest Women Leader Empowers Over 200

The North West Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji, has empowered more than 200 women in Sokoto State as part of efforts to support women and vulnerable groups in society.
In their separate welcome addresses, Hajiya Binta Muhammad and Hajiya Ni’ima Hassan commended Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji for initiating the laudable empowerment programme, describing it as a significant step towards improving the lives of less privileged women in the state.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Engagement, Hajiya Zainab Umar Dasuki, praised the APC North West Zonal Women Leader, noting that since assuming office, she has been committed to strengthening and uniting the women’s wing of the party across the seven North West states.
Also speaking, the Sokoto State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Rabi Garba Tudun-Wada, expressed delight over the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of exemplary leadership and a commitment to giving back to one’s roots.
She further highlighted another notable achievement of Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji, which was her immediate pledge to renovate a dilapidated borehole serving as the only source of water in Sarkin Zamfara Ward at a cost of N2 million.
In her address, Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji expressed gratitude to the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the leader of the party in the state and former governor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, as well as the First Lady, for their support in ensuring her emergence as APC North West Zonal Women Leader.
She explained that her decision to empower women in Sokoto South Local Government Area was motivated by the unwavering support she received from women during her emergence as the zonal leader.
The APC chieftain urged women to continue supporting the progressive transformation agenda of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and assured them that they would benefit from the various empowerment programmes of both the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the First Lady of Sokoto State, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu.
In her remarks, the representative of the Sokoto State First Lady and Commissioner for Social Welfare and Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe described the emergence of the North West Zonal Women Leader from Sokoto State as a blessing to women across the state.
She urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the donations and appealed to those yet to benefit to remain patient, assuring them that more opportunities would come.
Hajiya Asabe Balarabe also appreciated the First Lady of Sokoto State, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, for facilitating appointments of women into government positions. She further highlighted the achievements recorded by Governor Ahmed Aliyu over the past three years and called on women to continue supporting his administration.
Meanwhile, Hajiya Sadiya Abdullahi and her supporters formally defected to the APC during the event. She said their decision was influenced by the achievements recorded by Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji in the cause of her stint as APC North West Zonal Women Leader.
She pledged that they would mobilise support across Sokoto State to ensure the re election of Governor Ahmed Aliyu in 2027.
