ADC Releases Timetable for Primary Elections
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general polls.
In a public notice issued from its national headquarters in Abuja by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, the party outlined a structured schedule covering pre-primary activities, main election dates, and nomination costs.
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms is scheduled to run from May 5 to May 10, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13.
Screening of aspirants is expected between May 14 and May 15, with the final list of cleared candidates to be released on May 20.
The party fixed May 21, 2026, for the conduct of primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate positions. Governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary election will be held on May 25.
Further activities include the National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27.
On the cost of nomination forms, the ADC pegged the presidential form at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, senatorial at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦3 million.
The party also announced concessionary rates, granting a 50 percent discount to youths and 25 percent discount to women and persons with disabilities.
The ADC says the timetable reflects its commitment to a transparent and inclusive process as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
