Tinubu Too Detached from Nigerians’ Struggles to Win in 2027 — Baba-Ahmed

National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is too disconnected from the realities facing ordinary Nigerians to secure victory in the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise News Morning Show, Baba-Ahmed criticised the President’s remarks toward citizens questioning his administration’s performance, describing them as evidence of a widening gap between government and the people.

According to him, when a president tells citizens who question his record to “get new glasses” or labels critics as “biased beyond the polls,” it reflects a troubling attitude toward public concerns.

“You cannot live in Nigeria today, witness the poverty and lack of accountability, and still demand applause,” he said.

Baba Ahmed argued that the hardship experienced by many Nigerians, coupled with what he described as weak accountability in governance, has deepened public frustration and could shape the outcome of the next presidential election.

He added that the perceived disconnect between the presidency and the struggles of ordinary citizens is why the opposition remains confident that President Tinubu will be defeated in 2027.
