PDP Kebbi State Secretary Resigns Party Membership

By Yusuf Gwandu

The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kebbi State Chapter, Abubakar Bawa Kalgo, has formally resigned his membership of the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of Kalgo Ward, Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, dated 30 March, Kalgo said his resignation takes immediate effect.

He expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation he enjoyed during his time as a member of the party.

According to the letter, he thanked the PDP for the opportunity to serve and wished the party greater success and fortunes in the future.

The resignation of the state secretary is expected to trigger reactions within the Kebbi State chapter of the party, particularly at a time of ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections.

The development comes as a surprise, especially as Kalgo had only recently confirmed in an interview with Channels Television that the party would participate in the just-concluded Wike-led factional convention held in Abuja.

His sudden resignation today has, however, raised fresh questions over possible internal developments within the party in Kebbi State.
