No Petitions Against Sokoto Judges – Gov. Aliyu
The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has revealed that his administration has not received any petition or complaint against any judge in the state since assuming office, a development he described as a testament to the integrity of the judiciary.
Governor Aliyu made the disclosure while receiving members of the judiciary and legislature during a Sallah homage at the Government House in Sokoto.
He commended judges and Khadis in the state for their fairness, diligence, and commitment to upholding justice, noting that their conduct reflects a high level of professionalism and impartiality.
“I am very proud of the way and manner our judges and Khadis are administering justice in the state,” the governor stated.
The governor assured the judiciary of continued government support to strengthen its capacity to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities.
Speaking on the legislature, Governor Aliyu also praised the harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms, stressing that the synergy has enabled the execution of impactful projects across the state.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga, commended the governor for what he described as visible transformation across the state within two years of his administration. He pledged sustained legislative support through the enactment of people-oriented laws.
In his remarks, the Chief Judge of the state, Saidu Muhammad Sifawa, applauded the governor for prioritising the judiciary. He cited ongoing construction of courtrooms at the State High Court and another court complex as evidence of the administration’s commitment to strengthening the justice system.
Justice Sifawa also lauded the governor’s developmental strides across the state. The Sallah homage was attended by lawmakers, High Court judges, and Khadis.
