Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has secured the governorship ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, alongside three others who emerged as the party’s senatorial candidates in the state.
The primary election was conducted through affirmation, as all the positions were filled through consensus. The exercise took place at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi and was attended by a large number of supporters and party loyalists.
For the Kebbi Central Senatorial District, the ADC nominated retired General Aminu Bande as its candidate, while Ibrahim Muhammad Mera emerged as the party’s candidate for Kebbi North Senatorial District. Danjuma Limi was also nominated as the ADC candidate for Kebbi South Senatorial District.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Abubakar Malami vowed to unseat the APC-led administration and restore good governance with emphasis on security, education, and improved welfare for citizens.
“I sincerely appreciate the confidence and support shown by leaders, stakeholders, and supporters of the African Democratic Congress in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.” Malami said.
The Minister further noted that he remained committed to purposeful leadership, good governance, justice, security, and sustainable development in Kebbi State and across Nigeria.
