Zamfara, XEJet Seal Deal for Abuja-Gusau Commercial Flights

The Zamfara State Government has signed an Air Route Development Partnership Agreement with XEJet Limited for the commencement of scheduled commercial flights between Gusau International Airport and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The agreement, signed on Monday, is expected to improve air connectivity to Zamfara and facilitate business, investment, tourism and economic activities in the state.
A statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said the signing ceremony was chaired by the Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Mummuni, while the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada, signed the agreement on behalf of the state government.
Under the agreement, XEJet will operate bi-weekly commercial flights between Abuja and Gusau beginning next month.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Governor said the partnership was in line with the administration’s strategic objective of improving transportation infrastructure and making Zamfara more accessible.
He noted that the Gusau International Airport was built from scratch and completed within two years, stressing that its primary purpose was to facilitate the movement of people and goods and contribute to economic growth.
According to him, Governor Dauda Lawal has continued to pursue partnerships with international investors and donor agencies interested in investing in Zamfara.
Mummuni said the commencement of commercial flights would further enhance the state’s accessibility and help attract potential investors.
“Improving the state’s accessibility is our top priority, as it will create a more welcoming environment for business growth and investment,” he said.
The state government said the new air route would provide greater opportunities for investors, businesses and visitors while strengthening Zamfara’s connection with Abuja.
