Tinubu Orders Immediate Rescue of Niger Abduction Victims

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate commencement of a coordinated rescue operation following the mass abduction and killing of civilians by criminal elements in Niger State.
The President directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and other security and intelligence agencies to work jointly to secure the safe release of those abducted.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President condemned the attack, describing the perpetrators as “enemies of peace and enemies of humanity” who must face the consequences of their actions.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families of those who were killed in this barbaric assault and pray that Almighty God grant them eternal rest, and grant their loved ones the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the President said.
He assured the affected families that the government would not abandon them, stressing that security agencies would continue their efforts until all the abducted victims were accounted for.
“You are not alone. The entire nation shares your anguish. We will not rest until your sons, daughters, mothers and fathers are brought back safely to you,” Tinubu said.
The President also instructed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the progress of the rescue operation until the victims are safely recovered.
He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront terrorism and other forms of criminality, declaring that “terror will not cow Nigeria.”
Tinubu further assured the people of Niger State of the Federal Government’s support, saying all necessary assistance would be provided to the state government for recovery, relief efforts and the strengthening of security.
