Tambuwal Meets British High Commissioner in Abuja

Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South in the National Assembly, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Richard Montgomery at his residence in Abuja.

The meeting came shortly after recent separate engagements involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi with the British envoy, drawing attention to growing diplomatic consultations ahead of Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

Sources said the discussion between Tambuwal and Montgomery focused on issues of mutual interest, particularly bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as ways to deepen cooperation in governance and democratic development.

Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and influential northern political figure, remains a key voice in national politics. His visit is seen by observers as part of ongoing consultations among senior political leaders and members of the international diplomatic community.

GaskiyaCast reports that the British High Commission has continued to engage stakeholders across party lines on matters concerning democracy, stability, and economic partnership between both countries.
