Sokoto Police Presents ₦14.6m to Families of 17 Fallen Officers

The Sokoto State Police Command has presented cheques totaling ₦14,638,918.76 to 17 families and beneficiaries of police officers who died in the line of duty.

The presentation, held on Thursday, was part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at supporting families of officers who paid the ultimate price in the service of the nation.

Presenting the cheques, the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, reaffirmed the commitment of the IGP to the welfare of police personnel and their families.

CP Shaffa said the sacrifices of officers who lost their lives while serving the country would not be forgotten.

He appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for his continued commitment to the welfare of serving officers and families of fallen police personnel, noting that the financial assistance would provide meaningful support to the beneficiaries during a difficult period.

“The sacrifices made by officers in the service to the nation will not be forgotten,” CP Shaffa said.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Sokoto Commissioner of Police for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued concern for the families of its fallen officers.

The command said it would continue to prioritise the welfare of its personnel while honouring the sacrifices of officers who paid the ultimate price in the service of the country.
