Sokoto Assembly Committee Commends Kebbe LGA on Financial Accountability

The Sokoto State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Local Governments has praised Kebbe Local Government Area for adhering to due process and demonstrating commitment to accountability and prudent financial management.
The committee gave the commendation during an engagement with officials of the local government at the Mini Chamber of the State House of Assembly.
In a statement issued in Sokoto on Thursday, the Secretary of Kebbe LGA, Hon. Shamsudeen Umar Maiakwai, said the meeting reviewed issues relating to public administration, financial management, compliance with laws and regulations, and the maintenance of accurate financial records.

The committee, chaired by Hon. Mustapha Muhammad Dust acknowledged the council’s efforts in maintaining proper documentation, ensuring accountability and complying with established financial procedures.
It urged the local government to maintain the standard and continue improving its financial management practices, describing its efforts as a model that other local governments could emulate.
The Kebbe delegation included the Executive Chairman, Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi; Secretary of the Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Umar Maiakwai, Director of Finance and Supply, Alhaji Tukur Aliyu Santurakin Gada Planning Officer, Alhaji Hassan Muhammed Kebbe and Chief Accountant, Alhaji Aminu Sarki Yaki Dogondaji.
The council reiterated its commitment to transparency, financial discipline, proper record keeping and improved public service delivery.
