Sokoto ADC Adopts Atiku Abubakar as Sole Presidential Candidate Ahead of Primaries
The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has adopted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its sole candidate ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for Monday.
The announcement was made during a press briefing held at the party headquarters in Sokoto on Sunday by Muktari S. Magori, former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
According to Magori, the decision followed consultations among party stakeholders in the state as preparations intensify for the ADC presidential primaries and the 2027 general elections.
“The press conference was convened to announce the consensus reached by Sokoto ADC members to adopt His Excellency, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa,” he stated.
He added that the endorsement reflects the confidence of party members in Atiku’s leadership experience and political standing ahead of the national contest.
The briefing was attended by prominent ADC figures in Sokoto State, including Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, State Working Committee of the party led by the Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Maigwandu, and other stakeholders across the 23 local government areas of the state.
